My nickname is just catchier...

I’m a Data Science bootcamp student transitioning to tech from teaching!

Graduated with a B.A in Psychology and Middle School Education from Warren Wilson College where I used statistical data analysis for the first time using SPSS & R for my senior thesis research. I didn't write a single line of code since then till the end of 2021. After graduating, I started teaching in my hometown, Brooklyn, NY. Teaching during the pandemic was really difficult but I loved my students and making a positive impact on their lives. I was still drained beyond repair from the demands of the job without having recovered from a rough few years in college.

My students inspired me to find a new experience that would fill up my cup instead. I knew I wanted a challenge so I started my journey to find the right career for me.

My Journey to Tech from 2020-Present

Pivot #1: From Teaching to UX Design

Took a UX Design course on Coursera, thinking my creativity could bridge technical gaps.
HATED IT but it helped me pivot towards a new path.

Pivot #2: Discovering Data Analytics and Programming

Tried Google Analytics certification; enjoyed working with spreadsheets and minimal math.
Got curious about programming while taking Google’s Intro to Python course and found I loved it.
Focused on programming in 2022, using FreeCodeCamp and Codeacademy, but felt lost without clear direction.
Applied to Ada Developer Academy but wasn't accepted. This led me to the Data Science program at TripleTen.

Pivot #3: Pursuing Data Science and Machine Learning

Enrolled in the TripleTen Data Science program, taking my sweet time but almost done...soon 👀
Reconnected with hobbies, health, and family.
Started UGC projects, Youtube and Gigi's Tech Cafe!
Developed a real interest in machine learning and concepts like NLP and neural networks, aiming to research these areas deeply in the future.

I'm currently a Software Engineering Fellow at Headsatrter AI where I'm expanding my software engineering skills to ultimately lead me to the end goal of Machine Learning Engineer in healthcare.
