If you’re serious about learning from people with real-world experience, there are some amazing organizations that can connect you with professionals willing to give back their time as mentors. Mentors are professionals in the field that can answer your career questions, advise you on resume and interview skills, and potentially even give you the coveted gift of a recommendation or referral (but you shouldn't expect one).
Here are a few programs in the U.S. offering free mentorship opportunities, with most providing year-round 1:1 mentorship and community programming through in-person and remote events. In addition, the organizations listed here have large networks of members, including students, alumni, and professionals, allowing you to build community and improve your networking skills.
Applications are either open now or will be opening this summer for the upcoming cohort.
